Spiritual Dejection

Luke 24:21 (Amplified Bible)
But we were hoping that it was He Who would redeem and set Israel free. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things occurred.

Dejection, according to dictionary.com means: "depression or lowness of spirits". Dejection comes from one of two sources, either we have satisfied a lust, or we have not had it satisfied. Either way we find ourselves with a low spirit, which lust will most likely bring. Lust says "I Must have it now!!", and spiritual lust does not wait on God, but demands we have an answer now! Instead of demanding an answer from God, we need to be seeking Him, having faith and trusting in Him. Who do we think we are anyways? who are we to demand anything from God? We are way off based if we think it is our right to demand anything and spiritual dejection is our own doing. It is due to the fact that we take our eyes off of Christ and try to find our own way, and that never, ever works and only leads to our own demise.
We seek and we do not find, we look for visions that do not come, and we think we need them to survive, we look to them to give us guidance somehow, only to end up feeling that spiritual dejection. We need to hold onto faith and trust and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God IS working in our everyday lives. He is at work in our lives, in the events, and in other people around us every single day; we need only believe and hold onto this!!If we will just listen for His voice, obey and do what we know He wants, we will see Him!! "One of the most amazing revelations of God comes to us when we learn that it is in the everyday things of life that we realize the magnificent deity of Jesus Christ."
